Yoni Steaming 101

Your Yoni is Sacred, treat her as such.


Vaginal Steaming or “Yoni” steaming has been around for years; this is something that I’ve incorporated into my lifestyle. I try to Yoni steam at least once a week, this helps with any conditions you may have such as BV, Yeast, or even just to simply freshen up after a good time. Yoni steaming is said to have benefits spiritually as well, such as unlocking your relationship with your inner self, or to increase energy, provide pain relief, alleviate stress, or balance your hormones, according to Cleveland Clinic. Though there can definitely be negative side effects, none are life altering, think of it as sitting over a steaming pot of tea, letting the steam do its work in drawing out all impurities, left over period shedding, or energy from sexual experiences if you’re into that ;). 


The biggest part is knowing what to steam with. Every herb blend really depends on what you may need at the time. Calendula, for example, is known to have anti-inflammatory properties, Oregano fights infection with its antibacterial properties, Damiana increases libido and reduces stress, and mugwort, my favorite, is known for its benefits with hormonal balance. This is my favorite concoction because I personally struggle with PCOS symptoms. Yoni Steaming once a week has been a life changer, and allows the symptoms of dryness, yeast, and lowered libido to be almost non-existent. If you’re a first timer I recommend doing research on herbs based on what you need, what works for me may not work for you babe, and that’s okay! 


If you want to start steaming, a few things; one, find your herbs. Whether this be on Amazon, your local natural foods store or “witchy shop” is what I like to call them, or growing them yourself. The shop I frequent, “Kent Natural Foods” has an entire wall of organic herbs that you can choose from and weigh to your liking, all the herbs above cost me as little as $5 and they last me all month. Once your herbs are acquired, you can either buy a bowl specifically for steaming, or like me, just get the smallest pot you have and squat, it makes no difference really, just ensure you wrap a towel around your lower half to ensure the steam doesn’t escape, and please PLEASE, don’t burn yourself. DO NOT, sit on the pot after you’ve taken it directly off the stove, you’ll burn your vulva, make sure you let your palm sit over the steam as a test before sitting on it, your Yoni will thank you. 

Once you start steaming, you’re going to wonder why you haven’t been doing it all along, it’s a game changer for sure.
